Healthcare Expert: Montana Parents Should Research Kids’ Vaccine Choices
This will be the first school year since 1990 that students head back to school with active measles cases in the state.
As Montana children head back to school, many parents have already decided which vaccines their kids will receive for the new year. For some families, those choices came after careful research rather than following the standard childhood immunization schedule.
Erin Laws, founder of the Montana Medical Freedom Alliance, said the “most important” aspect of any vaccine decision is allowing parents to determine what they believe is best for their child.
Laws, who spoke in her own capacity and not as someone giving personal health advice, noted families should feel comfortable doing research, asking questions, raising concerns and finding a healthcare provider who takes them seriously.
